The cameras are compatible with Blackmagic ATEM.

The ATEM Television Production Studio is an entry level hardware piece that takes the place of an actual TV studio.

Please keep in mind when setting up your ATEM, you will not get an image out of the device if the resolution and framerate settings are not the same on both your camera, and your ATEM.

  1. Plug the ATEM switcher into power,
  2. Connect it to your network with a standard cat5e cable, and
  3. Connect a USB cable from the USB 2.0 connection on your ATEM device to your PC.
  4. Download the latest software for your device from Blackmagic Design (https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/support/family/atem-live-production-switchers).
  5. Once you get the latest update, go to Start > All Apps > Blackmagic Design.
  6. Go to ATEM switchers and run the ATEM setup utility.

As long as your device is connected to your PC with a USB cable, you should see your device's IP address. Keep that open, and go into your Blackmagic Design All programs folder, and run your ATEM Control Software. You should be prompted to put you your IP address, just use all the information from the ATEM setup utility and connect to your device.

You should see a switcher interface. This is how you control your ATEM Television Studio. You can adjust your switcher settings.

  1. First, go to the "gear" in the bottom left.

  1. Now you should get an option to set your Video Standard.

The PTZ Optics cameras will pull through if you set that to any resolution aside from 1080p60, 1080p59.94 and 1080p50  . Those resolutions will not work over SDI unless you use a framerate converter to change the 3G Level A signal from the cameras to the Level B signal the ATEM is looking for.  If you need to know what the cameras HDMI or SDI is outputting it is designated by the rotary dial on the back of the camera. The corresponding chart is below. If you are not seeing these from your cameras output you may need to upgrade the firmware of your camera.  https://ptzoptics.com/firmware-finder/

EDIT (5-19-21) the PTZOptics cameras now handle 3G SDI resolutions over for any SDI/NDI model camera made in June of 2020 or later. This does not apply to the Zcams.

Now connect your cameras and get a video feed. If you are connecting to inputs 3 or 4, you would need to go to your input labels page, and select whether you want those inputs to be SDI or HDMI.

At this point, you need to hook up the Multiview output of your  ATEM to a monitor or TV. Once this is done you should be viewing your camera feeds.

Here is an example I have of 2 PTZ Optics cameras each feeding an HDMI and an SDI input on the ATEM.
