We recommend using either the  SIIG active extension cables or over fiber optic wire with the Icron USB 3.0 Spectra. These have been tested with the cameras and they work very reliably. The Siig is an active cable so it needs power injected into the cable, but only if you daisy chain 2 or more of these cables together. The iron spectra's use a USB connection with the camera and optical cable (not included) between the host and the device. while the iron Spectra is a reliable option for going long distances the price tag when the cost of the optical cable is factored in can be rather large. this is why for most applications we suggest using the Siig cables.

The Siig cables are much more durable since they are copper and not fiber optic cable. The Siig cables are offered in lengths of 5,10,15 and 20 meter lengths. the Spectra has the ability to run USB at distances of up to 100M.
