Using a Network Cable

1. Turn on your PC and PTZOptics Camera

2. Connect a network cable to your PCs NIC port

3. Connect the other end of the network cable to the RJ45 port on the PTZOptics camera

4. On your Windows PC set your static IP address for the NIC to 192.168.100.87

a. If you are unsure how to set a static IP address please follow the directions linked below

i. Windows: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/change-tcp-ip-settings#1TC=windows-7

ii. Mac OS X: http://osxdaily.com/2010/12/17/set-static-ip-address-mac/

5. Open a web browser; such as FireFox, IE, Opera, etc… and enter the following address http://192.168.100.88

6. When prompted for login information please enter as follows

a. User: “admin” [Without the quotation marks]

b. PW: “admin” [Without the quotation marks]

7. You should now be connected to the PTZOptics camera using a network cable

 

Connecting directly to your network

1. Turn on your PC and PTZOptics Camera

2. Connect your PC to your network

3. Connect the PTZOptics camera to the SAME network as your PC

4. On you Windows PC launch the “IP Address Setting Tool” available from the PTZOptics website

a. https://cdn2.hubspot.net/hubfs/418770/upgrade%20v2.2.zip

5. Once the software is running click the “Search” button

a. The list below the “Search:” button should populate with the camera on the network under the IP address of “192.168.100.88”

b. Highlight the camera at the default IP address of “192.168.100.88” and right click on the highlighted line

i. Select “Config”

ii. Enter an AVAILABLE static IP address on your network under the “IP address

iii. For Mask, Gateway and First DNS please refer to your network settings to populate these fields.

iv. Click “Set” The camera will reboot

6. Open a web browser and enter the IP address of the camera as entered in 5.b.ii

7. When prompted for login information please enter as follows

a. User: “admin” [Without the quotation marks]

b. PW: “admin” [Without the quotation marks]

8. You should now be connected to the PTZOptics camera over your network.
